On of my favourite places in Derbyshire...

Since moving back to Derbyshire, after being away for over 2 years, I have had an adjustment period of finding places that I can love and like as much as the places I loved in York. One of the more unlikely places I have fallen in love with is Tansley Carboot & Market on a Sunday Morning.

Tansley is a small place in Derbyshire, surrounded by beautiful countryside and every Sunday during the Spring/Summer/Autumn period it hosts a lovely market and carboot sale.

I don't know why, but there is something therapeutic about getting together your old stuff that you no longer want and selling it to others in horrendous weather conditions. I have so far done 2 carboot sales and I have loved chatting to people and selling things.

The picture below is when everyone is packing up but there is usually a fantastic amount of stalls selling all sorts of stuff. I try not to buy too much but there is usually fantastic fruit and veg for sale from small holders in the area.

I love that coming to this market gets me up and going on a Sunday morning when I go, I then have a long and productive Sunday rather than lying in bed for most of the morning (although that's essential too!)

What is your favourite Sunday morning place?

  2. The view is amazing, appreciated most by car-booters without the rain :)

My favourite place used to be my allotment,
