Izzy Lane

After reading this Sundays You Magazine I discovered a new person doing their bit for ethical fashion, Isobel Davies. Liz Jones presents an interesting article exposing some of the cruelty's in the wool industry, which raises the question is wool actually vegetarian when there is so much cruelty involved with producing it?

Well, the wool products at Izzy Lane are certainly vegetarian friendly. She uses Wensleydale and Shetland sheep, which have been rescued from certain death and given a chance to live out the rest of their lives on Isobel's cruelty free farm and are lovingly looked after by Ernest Ayre. Her beautiful wool products are also spun, weaved and knitted in the UK. She also sells cashmere on her site from British goats and off farms in which the farmer has high standards of animal welfare.

She also produces a range of vegetarian shoes and bags which are approved by the vegetarian society.

Although it may be a little on the pricey side, you get good quality products and you have peace of mind that no animals were hurt in the production of your clothes.

I will certainly be buying knitwear from Izzy Lane in the future!
